Barista
Location: Al Aliyah Island, Abu Dhabi Employment Type: Full-time Salary: AED 2600-2800/month Accommodation: Provided by employer We are looking for a reliable and experienced Barista / Café Crew member to join our café on Al Aliyah Island, Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate should have experience preparing specialty coffee, be comfortable with basic food and bakery preparation, and be willing to live on Al Aliyah Island. Accommodation will be provided. Responsibilities - Prepare high-quality espresso-based and specialty coffee drinks - Dial in the espresso machine and grinder and maintain consistent coffee quality - Prepare cold drinks, shakes, juices and other café beverages - Prepare and serve simple café food, including cookies and baked items - Perform basic baking and food preparation - Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards - Take customer orders and operate the POS system - Maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café - Clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders and other equipment - Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory counts - Receive and organize supplier deliveries - Follow food-safety and storage procedures - Assist with opening and closing procedures - Provide friendly and professional customer service - Work closely with the other team member, particularly during busy weekends and holidays Requirements Previous café or barista experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should have good knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming and common specialty coffee drinks. Experience with simple baking or café food preparation is an advantage. The candidate should be able to communicate effectively in English, maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, work independently when required, and handle busy periods efficiently. Because the café is located on Al Aliyah Island, candidates must be willing to live on the island in accommodation provided by the employer. Experience with specialty coffee equipment and POS systems such as Foodics is an advantage, but training can be provided. Working Environment The café serves residents and visitors to Al Aliyah Island. Business is expected to be significantly busier on weekends and public holidays, so availability during these periods is important. We are looking for someone who is dependable, clean, organized, friendly with customers, and willing to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a small café.
